On Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris condemned the “nonsense” spoken at Donald Trump’s campaign rally in New York City the previous day, which included a racist joke by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe about Puerto Rico. “I’m very proud to have the support of both Bad Bunny and Jennifer Lopez, among others, who backed me before that nonsense last night at Madison Square Garden,” the Democratic presidential nominee stated to reporters. The famous Puerto Rican singers, Bad Bunny and Lopez, expressed their support for Harris regarding Puerto Rico in social media posts following Hinchcliffe’s remarks about the U.S. territory. On Sunday, the vice president unveiled a plan to “build an opportunity economy for Puerto Rico” by establishing a task force to encourage economic growth on the island.
